Whitireia and WelTec Current Advice

This information was updated on 14 Mahuru (September) 2022

Government has announced a change in the COVID-19 settings, including the end of the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

The health and wellbeing of our ākonga (learners), kaimahi (staff), and wider Whitireia and WelTec whānau remain our priority. It’s important that we keep up these campus health measures:

  • Stay at home if you test positive for COVID-19, if you are unwell, or have cold or flu symptoms, and let your tutor know. Return to class when you are well, have a negative COVID-19 test, and have no cold or flu symptoms.
  • Maintain hygiene practices: Regularly wash hands with soap or use hand sanitiser; cough or sneeze into your elbow; use antibacterial wipes to clean surfaces.
  • Where possible, ensure windows are open to enable fresh air into your work or teaching space.

Using face masks while on our campuses is optional. Please respect those who choose to keep wearing a face mask as a form of protection.

We are here to help and support you. If you have questions, or need advice, please talk with your tutor. You can also reach out to our Learner Support Services.

If you are a currently enrolled ākonga (learner), check Moodle and MyDay regularly for information about your course or programme. Or reach out to us: WelTec phone 0800 935 832, email information@weltec.ac.nz or Whitireia phone 0800 944 847, email information@whitireia.ac.nz.
